1. Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling Eroica
Feeling like you need to change it up from Sauvignon blanc and Pinot Grigio? Give this Riesling a try! Funny coming from me, because I tend to keep my distance from Riesling. They’ve just never been my cup of “wine”. However, I love Washington State wines and Chateau Ste Michelle. This Riesling is perfect for summer sipping. Subtle sweetness, but not syrupy. Fresh Lime and peach can be detected. Very well balanced and delightfully refreshing. Total Wine & More $17.99
2. Ferrari – Carano Fume Blanc
This wine is one of my husbands favorites! It is fresh, crisp and has jut the right acidity to it. Filled with tropical fruits ( Pineapple, Kiwi) and a bit of grassiness. The finish is creamy with a citrus notes. We love having this own its own or with seafood. Total Wine & More $10.47
3. Graham Beck Brut Rose – South Africa
Thanks to our friend and fellow wine lover Molly, we have fallen in love with this brut. Graham Beck Brut Rose hails from South Africa and is packed with flavor and character. Blended with two classic varietals, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this dry bubbly (my fav) has raspberry on the nose and cherry on the palate. A touch of minerality can’t be detected on the finish. This is the perfect summer bubbly to sip on with some cheese or drink on it’s own. Total Wine & More carries this for a modest $17.99. Not a bad price for such a sophisticated elegant brut.
4. Joel Gott Unoaked Chardonnay
Seeing as this is an Unoaked Chardonnay, there isn’t that heavy oakiness that so many people despise (I happen to love it!). Which is why I picked this particular Chardonnay. It isn’t heavy and strong. It is refreshing and filled with pineapple, melon and some stone fruits. Crisp with some minerality on the finish. A great wine to have at home for your Chardonnay loving fans, but one that will please even the non-chardonnay fans. Target, Costco, Total Wine & More $15.
5. Sokol Blosser Evolution White Wine
This is a wine my grandfather has brought to many family gatherings. Evolution is made up of 9 grape varietals, such as Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. This white from Oregon is floral and spicy with apple and pear. Goes fantastically well with cheeses, fish, spicy food or just on its own. Total Wine & More $12. Can be found around the DMV at most wine shops.
