Forgive me father, for I have sinned… no, wait, no I haven’t, but it’s been a while since my last post. I blame the hustle and bustle of the holidays, then the recovering from the holidays (which takes the entire month of January). Now that we are into February and the recovery is well over with, it’s time to jump back into the saddle.
I’ve been meaning to write about how thrilled I am that the new Total Wine & More recently opened up in Ballston. When I learned there was a Total Wine opening up literally 5 minutes from our house, you can imagine my excitement (and my husband’s reaction) about the closeness to our house and that it happens to be on my way home from work. In defense of my husband, it is very difficult to go to Total Wine and leave with just one bottle. Forgive me, I’m a Wine O.
My excuse is that Total Wine has a spectacular selection. I can get lost in the Chardonnay section and leave with many bottles. The difference with this new location is the size. It isn’t nearly as big as the McLean location or even the Alexandria location. But I think that’s better. For the folks walking in just looking for a bottle to bring to a friends, it is less overwhelming. The beer selection is still a winner in our books, and the option to create your own 6 pack is available. There is also a great selection of cigars. Wine and beer tastings are regularly done, and I must say the featured wines picked to taste have been winners thus far.
If you are familiar with the Arlington area, specifically Ballston, parking may be a question. There is limited street parking, however, around the corner from the front door is a garage, and as long as you get the validation at the register, you are good to go! I have never had an issue parking.
Check this new spot out. It’s got the great selection Total Wine is known for and the great prices to match. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to make a run to Total Wine.
